MAS Fun!

5/29/12

It was Dan-o's 30th surprise birthday party this past Saturday. His family is from California and a big In-N-Out burger fan. So when it came to what kind of cake to make, we knew just what to do:

Check out my Recipes page to see how to make it:

After 4 baked cakes, 2 1.2 bathes of frosting, 6 icing bags, and one nervous car ride to Katie and Dan's house, we had ourselves a Double Double birthday cake!
Happy Birthday, Dan!
The backyard BBQ surprise was successful. Good job on getting everything together, Katie!

 Destin 2012
The whole family packed up and headed to Destin, Florida for a much needed vacation this past week. The house we stayed in was amazing and the best part- it was right next to the Crab Trap!!!! God, that place is so good. Anyway, it was a really special to spend so much time together. We had prefect weather and went before most schools were out so it wasn't to crowded (I'm so old, these are the things that matter to me now).

ING Half Marathon
Drew ran the ING half marathon in Atlanta last Saturday for his third year in a row! This year was a tough course but he did excellent as always. It is so much fun watching the hundreds of committed runners. It is both motivating and depressing at the same time. These people look so fit and healthy and it makes you want to join in! But then the next second you are thinking how much it sucks to run and how you are no where near ready to run a race like this. Anywayyy, more power to them! It is always a very exciting morning that goes by quickly. There is usually a lot of walking for us spectators to do as well. But the different costumes ones sees throughout the day make up for it! This year I saw about 10 tutus, lots of St. Patrick's day attire, a full parrot costume, and one kilt (thankfully, I saw some running shorts under there!).
